A Few Exceptions

There are a few key items items in a girls life that she should never skimp on. If you can find any of these items for less than way to go, just know that these items are worth splurging on.

1. A Great Pair of Sneakers
My Pic is the Mizuno X10. $75.00 and up.
If you are active you know that the right pair of sneakers can make a world of difference in you performance ability and comfort.  I recommend taking a trip to your local running store. My local store Potomac River Running actually has its customers jog on a treadmill to determine what shoe is best suited for your running/walking style, foot shape, and arch. Depending on your level of exercising a great pair of sneakers can last up to 2 to 3 years.

2. An Amazing Skin Care Regimen
Don't skimp on the moisturizer!
 My preference is Clinique's Even Better Tone Correcting Moisturizer w/SPF 20 ($44.50 Sephora). I also like Clinique's Super Antioxidant Night Moisturizer($44.50 Sephora), which makes my skin soft and keeps it hydrated during the night to help prevent break outs. Whatever your skin needs are, we're talking about something you apply to your face everyday. Your face is the first thing people see and who doesn't want great skin? Even though I splurge a bit on moisturizer, my daily facewash is inexpensive and multipurpose. I use Clean&Clear 3in1 gel cleanser($6 Target)
 which serves as a makeup remover, cleanser, and toner all in one.

3. A Fabulous and Comfortable Bra Collection
A girl needs support and coverageof her goods and the cost of that security shouldn't be questioned!

For me my go to bra is the Victoria Secret Incredible Demi ($46 Victoria Secret). I have one in nude, grey, black, and hot pink! This bra gives me support, great shape, and is so comfortable! I honestly have found the bra I have always been searching for. Of course there are other types of bras in addition to your everyday model. Every girl should have each of the following in her collection;
  • 2 to 4 basic bras in nuetral colors for everyday wear.
  • 1 Fun and Flirty bra
  • 1 Great strapless/convertible
  • 2 or 3 Supportive sports bra
I exercise or try to 6 days a week so I have collected 6 or 7 sports bras over the years. If you purchase good quality bras they will last you several years which will intern mean getting more for your money!

Let Me Introduce Myself

A 28 year old Interior Designer, baking enthusiast, and trend setter. Originally from Upstate New York, living in the DC area for a little over five years. Since college and maybe even before shopping and spending have been something frequent, enjoyable, and quite frankly one of my favorite activities. In the past few years I have become quite an accomplished online shopper, which for those of you who don't know can be quite dangerous.
In an effore to get my finances on track and still maintain a stylish fashion forward wartrobe this blog has come about. Working as a Designer in the upscale area of old town Alexandria, just outside the city maintaining a pulled together and chic appearance is key in surviving in the industry. I will be banishing credit cards, forbide myself from buying designer brands, and seek out trendy and polished looks in my own closet and at bargain brand retailers and consignment shops. I will document fab finds, daily outfits, do it yourself clothing projects, hot spots, and bumps and hurdles along the way.
